cora is increasing its services in response to changes in office space and new ways of working.

SICK AG, based in Waldkirch, is a global manufacturer of sensors for factory, logistics and automation technology with around 12,000 employees worldwide.

Initial situation

The challenge at SICK was to make certain items available to employees around the clock without taking them away from their work. This included, for example, lending out devices such as headsets or notebooks. When the office space at SICK changed, the company looked for digital solutions to accommodate the new structure and enable employees to access and exchange goods. SICK set itself the goal of introducing an IT vending machine. Top cases such as pick-ups and service cases were to be covered with cora.

Implementation

The decision in favor of cora as a solution was made during the Partner Summit when STREIT gave a presentation on the vending machinewith its customer reference, the company "Hansgrohe". Thorsten Walther, Portfolio Manager Digital Workplace at Hansgrohe, explained the customer situation live on site, which impressed SICK. Christian Scherer then presented cora internally.

With the broad approval of all relevant committees, the IT vending machine concept was driven forward, which led to the installation of the first cora at the Waldkirch site. In the next step, the use cases were specifically tailored to SICK's needs and tested together with cora on site. Today, SICK uses its cora for various use cases, including rental, returns and store withdrawals.

To draw internal attention to the IT vending machine and offer an initial user experience, SICK organized a sweet surprise for its employees with 600 cookies that could be taken from cora. Over 2,000 users now use the IT vending machine on a regular basis.

Successes

The decisive success factor for the company is the availability of the required resources. The need for a flexible working environment required a digital solution that could adapt the team's service structures.

Thanks to cora, SICK was able to increase its service performance and achieve a significant increase in efficiency. The rapid availability of devices enables greater flexibility in the workplace. Employees have responded extremely positively to cora, and the IT machine is actively used at central locations within the company.
